A Magical Christmas Celebration at the V&A

When Word on the Street was approached by a client to plan their company Christmas party at the V&A, we started planning a bespoke event unlike any other end-of-year corporate celebration. Their brief asked us to create a memorable evening full of entertainment and surprises to appropriately celebrate their employees themselves as well as their accomplishments.

The Victoria and Albert Museum features stunning architecture and a unique environment that makes it the ideal venue for a bespoke event. The South Kensington V&A describe their museum as “a world of creativity in the heart of London.”

The venue is renowned for its mix of historic and contemporary design, and finding a venue such as this allowed us to create a sophisticated and warm atmosphere for guests. Our team relied on their wealth of experience and expertise to enhance the venue’s natural beauty while adding seasonal touches to bring the festive cheer to life.

Guests arrived in style on a double-decker bus before heading inside. We wanted this event to feel as immersive as possible—a bespoke experience that would leave guests talking about the party and remembering it for years to come. Every element was carefully planned and delivered to suit our client’s brief. From creative theming and design to entertainment, catering, and décor, we worked with the best suppliers in the industry to create an evening that drove immersion and engagement. The festive atmosphere was the perfect backdrop for what was, ultimately, a celebration of the people who make the company shine.

The entertainment was designed to surprise and engage guests at every turn. The V&A’s iconic spaces echoed the stunning voices of opera singers, adding to the elegance and grandeur of the evening. It’s not every day that you get to experience a night at the opera without having to attend an opera house. Later, a lively dance group brought playful energy to the room, inspiring an energetic and festive atmosphere. An incredible seven-piece band kept the party in full swing, topping off the evening’s entertainment and ensuring that every guest enjoyed themselves late into the night.

Bespoke events like this wouldn’t be complete without exceptional food and drink, and our catering partners truly delivered. From seasonal canapés to delicious main courses, each bite was designed to complement the festive atmosphere. The catering was beautifully paired with a selection of wines and cocktails, ensuring a sense of luxury for all guests to indulge in.
